Our Board & Train Program is ideal for busy dog owners who want real results but don’t have the time to commit to daily training. Your dog stays with us in a structured, balanced, and enriching environment where they receive professional, hands-on training multiple times a day. Whether it’s basic obedience, leash manners, crate training, or behavior modification, we focus on building strong, lasting habits.

We offer 2-week, 3-week, and 4-week Board & Train programs, depending on your dog’s needs and your training goals. Since every dog learns at their own pace, we don’t rush the process. Some dogs may need a little more time to truly understand and apply what they’ve learned, so a 2-week stay may extend to 3 weeks if needed to ensure long-term success.

Training your dog is only part of the journey — training you is the other half. That’s why we include weekend private sessions during the program to teach you all the foundations and techniques your dog is learning. Your dog will eventually go back home with you, and we want you to feel confident and equipped to keep the progress going.

Dogs can’t move freely, read body language well, or disengage when they’re leashed — it sets them up to fail.

7 month old female Labrador, she is your typical happy friendly lab but doesn’t know how big she is. She doesn’t know boundaries and respect of space. We’re going to work on those social skills, jumping, proofing her obedience, and walking good on leash. She’s has had obedience training before this is why I’m accepting her as a mini board and train.

As the 4th of July approaches, it's important to remember that while we celebrate with loud fireworks and festivities, our dogs may feel anxious and stressed. To help your dog enjoy the day safely and comfortably, here are some essential tips.
First, encourage your dog to get extra exercise earlier in the day. A good walk or play session can help reduce their anxiety by burning off excess energy, making them calmer when the fireworks begin.
Next, create a secure and cozy space where your dog can retreat to feel safe. A crate or a quiet, dark room with their favorite blankets and toys works well. This familiar environment can help soothe their nerves during the loudest moments.
If your dog is particularly sensitive, consider using calming aids. CBD oil has become a popular natural option, but always consult with your veterinarian before trying any new medications or supplements, including vet-prescribed treatments designed to ease anxiety.
It’s also a great idea to start desensitization training well before the 4th of July. Gradually exposing your dog to recorded firework sounds at a low volume can help them get used to the noise and reduce their fear when the real fireworks begin.
Finally, to prevent your dog from getting lost in the confusion, make sure their ID tags, microchips, and collars are all up to date. Double-checking these details gives you peace of mind and increases the chances of a safe reunion if your pet slips away.

Try a couple reps every single day until they no longer need the treat and just use the verbal command.

I started with:
🐾 food lure, reward, when I get the desired outcome
🐾 body signal, or a cue, me pointing into him

Claiming Space is a dog training technique focused on establishing boundaries and teaching respect of personal space.

When you have a multiple dog household it’s only fair to give attention to all dogs individually not just the one that thinks they’re the center of the universe.

Dogs claim their own space. They claim the couch, the door, and other people/dogs.

That physical pressure that dogs do with each other is what I do to claim space. Not just with attention but with the door and the couch.

Learning to claim space is a skill but it can teach a dog to not rush out the door, excessively bark and jump on people.

How to claim space:
🐾Remain confident and calm
🐾 Use body pressure (moving forward) until the dog changes provides you the space

We teach this technique in our training programs and in our boarding and it’s a great way to improve your relationship with your dog teaching them boundaries.

Dog training isn’t only about basic obedience like sit, down, come it’s much more than that. It’s creating a clear communication with your dog. Having them understand our world while understanding the dog you have in front of you.

Much of our dog training programs brings your dog into our everyday lives just like how you would with yours. We use techniques like positive reinforcement but also correcting behaviors that are not acceptable like jumping, biting, barking or reactivity. Not every dog will be the same.

Basic obedience allows them to use these skills in everyday life but we also teach them to be neutral with other people/dogs and becoming more calm in the environment.

Mangos board and train

Mango stayed with us for 16 days, before this she has been doing private sessions with me 2 times a week and her pet parents decided to continue the training while they were away.

At only 5 months Mango knows basic obedience commands.

I wanted this board and train to work on her leash skills, door manners and “stay” as well as living in a home with another dog (Zeus). Learning boundaries and respect in a home.
She also likes to jump and counter surf, which we have old her “no” and rewarded her once she was down.

I didn’t push to much on leash as we will do it when she turns about 8-9 months. Right now everything is about exploring and creating a calm confident puppy at this age.

I always recommend doing another board and train when they are a bit older 8 months to a year since there brains are a bit more mature.

It’s always a pleasure working with Mango she is a quick learner🥰. These basic commands can help with everyday things around the house and in the outside world.

What a year!

“It’s never to late to be what you could have been, so take the risk and have the tenacity to never give up”

As I reflect in the past 12 months it’s crazy how fast time flies and how many ups and downs that come at your way. It’s those ups and downs that continue to push us forward.

Almost one year since I’ve opened up this business and I’ve met so many great people/dogs and learned so much along the way.

I’m so thankful for my husband, Zeus, family and friends who support me so much through out this journey.

2025 will be the biggest challenge of my life but I’m excited and ready to take it on!

New year new puppy !

I’ve been getting a lot of questions and concerns that your puppy is driving you crazy peeing all of the house.

First, let’s take a deep breathe 😂 .

Remember you brought them into your world so you have to teach them how to live in it.

Potty training can take some time but if you maintain a strict schedule they can learn within a few days.

Depending on the age of your puppy is how long they can hold their pee.
🐾2-3 months =2-3 hours
🐾4-5 months= 4-5 hours
And so on.. this may change depending on how much water/food your puppy may be drinking or eating. The size of your puppy is also a factor. Smaller breeds have smaller bladders. You have to monitor that and be patience. Keep a close eye on them.

Keep a journal or mental notes when they went potty whatever works best for you.

Puppies need 15-18 hours of sleep, use the crate to give them time to settle and rest. Just like human babies they need rest to grow and develop. The crate is such a useful tool to grant you time and space from your puppy.

I get it dogs are so cute! I’ve been there many times 🤪. Especially the fluffy ones or little ones, but we need to stop wanting to touch dogs and respect their space. If you don’t know dog body language or know the dog, I wouldn’t touch.

I spoke with someone the other day that went to touch a dog and they got bite. They thought it was friendly.

Not all dogs want to be or need to be touched.

That “want” is more of a human thing than a dog thing. Dogs take information through their nose, then eyes, then ears.

I would first start by asking the pet owner if it’s ok to pet their dog.

Did you know that it can cause reactivity?
It can create a very excited dog that will probably pull on the leash to try and have someone pet them.

Or

A very shy/nervous dog to lung at people to back the f*** up!

Let’s just be mindful of others and their pets. 🫶🏼

Ace is a 2 year old Doberman one of our daily walking client, we walk 30 to 1 hour everyday.

Our walks are very structured, Ace is a working line, high drive dog so I always like to incorporate basic commands and eye contact in our walks. Get his mind working 👏

The walk is always a great way to practice and work on your obedience.

How long you should walk your dog really depends on the age or size of your dog.

At minimum should be about 30 mins. Dogs are made for 🚶🏼‍♀️ walking.
Larger breeds could be up to an hour. I walk my dog 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night. Even little dogs need to walk, don’t think that just throwing them out in the backyard is enough, it’s not 🫣.

It’s great exercise for you and your pup.
Walking can improve your mood and relieve symptoms of stress.

Sometimes our busy lives get in the way but if you are not able to walk your dog make sure your fulfilling them in some other aspect in their lives. Or hire a professional dog walker to take them out or trainer to help with leash pulling. I’ve partnered up with @thedogmothermiami who is a great dog walker.

Many dogs worst nightmare 😂 if we don’t start them young the hate towards this tool will be more of a struggle down the road.

I start with placing the clippers or filer close to them so they see that its just an object. I would reward them even if they are looking.
Let them smell the tool, hear the sound of it then bring it closer.
Clip one nail at a time and always give a treat if they allow the clip. Don’t force them or they will pull away more.

The filer takes a bit longer than the clipper but it does the job.

We have to make the experience a positive one.
You can also try using peanut butter licky mats.

Find a spot to put your dogs bed or a blanket and have them to stay there while you open the door. Use the leash for guidance, don’t be afraid to correct them if they get off. Welcome Gus! He’s an American Bully around 2-3 years old. Has been with us for boarding twice. He’s a huge goofy ball, we call them the bash bros with his buddy Zeus. Very chill mood, loves to sleep and take in the 🌞.

What is Tethering?
Tethering is when you restrict the movement of your dog to something. Either a door knob or a chair or the couch.

Some dogs just don’t know how to settle down or follow you everywhere and that can be cute but it shouldn’t be allowed all the time.

Dogs need to learn to be independent and to practice separation from you. I find that tethering helps control that movement and allows them to settle in place. If they are constantly moving they never learn to relax.

Some of the dogs that come into our care I practice this often. I also let the owners know about the practice. If they are calm I always reward that behavior. Essentially that is the goal. The dog starts to learn that if I’m calm I get my human back and a treat.

Meet Our pack!
4-year old female cat-Chiqui and 3 1/2 year old pit-bull mix-Zeus.

Both were rescues from @adoptmiamipets when they were just a few months.

Chiqui is our wild child the sassy girl. Typical boss cat that loves to hunt lizards, birds and rats. She’s a hunter! Yes! She has brought many of those in the house 🤣. Chiqui is not afraid of any of the dogs we bring here but most of them are scared of her.

Zeus is a happy go lucky guy sometimes too much excitement when seeing people. He has been great with all the dogs and cats that we have fostered and trained. A good role model. We wanted a male pitbull to challenge us since we have always had female dogs. Males are usually pushier and more confident. He has taught me a lot about being confident in myself and stepping up in my leadership role. 🫶🏼

Biking can be soooo beneficial for you and your dog. Some dogs need to run and let go of a lot of energy. Imagine being stuck in an apartment for 8 hours and just going on a walk. This can create anxiety.

Sometimes energy gets pent up, I find that the best way to release that energy is by going on a bike ride. Meeting the dog at there level and there speed. Doesn’t have to be everyday but just a few minutes can really help with your dogs health. #doberman #bike #exercise

Artie was with me for 6 days and although this was not enough time to fully grasp the knowledge we were able to make some progress.
For puppies at 4 months old and younger our program consists of setting the foundation for:

🐾 Crate training
🐾 Leash Drills
🐾 Socialization
🐾 Having fun

Puppies are so much fun but are a handful. Something we should always teach is “separation” they don’t always need to follow us around. I tethered Artie to my couch to prevent that and for him to settle down on his own. Give them some independence.

Things we/you experience are demand barking in the crate, low attention span, a lot of biting, many potty breaks. All the fun stuff of owning a puppy.🐶 This soon shall pass folks!

After the program we like to show you what we taught the puppy and will continue to provide guidance and sessions as needed to you all. 🤗

In the end, I want to continue to see them progress and love to help in the best way I can!

Training never stops! It should be something you consistently do every day, whether it is 5 mins or 1 hour.

Make it fun! Learn some tricks! 🎊 it’ll increase the bond with you and your dog. They will love you even more for it. 💪🏽

Separation Anxiety!
Yikes! Your dog has separation anxiety. You’re not alone. It is actually a pretty common thing since we are all working from home.

A very natural thing for our dogs to do is follow us.

We have to break that cycle of following so they can get used to being alone and independent. This exercise may not work for all, but it is an idea that you can try because there could be several other reasons why your dog may have separation anxiety.

Start by holding your dog accountable to holding “place” and the leave room. Start by seconds and then minutes followed by hours.

Charlie is able to hold this “place” for 15 seconds before he gets out and becomes a little anxious. I will continue to go out for 15 seconds and start increasing by a second.

The goal here is really to just make him feel OK and comfortable that I leave the room . #separationanxiety #puppies #dogtraining #doodle

The ugly….

Having a puppy/dog isn’t always easy. They test you, they’re loud, and they’re very cute.

Charlie gets overly excited and anxious to get out of the crate. This took about 7 min total for his episode to stop.

Remain calm nothing is going wrong, give yourself sometime so that you’re not rushing and the dog needs to understand that the behavior that it’s exhibiting will not reward them from coming out of the crate. It may seem really hard to see your dog like this, but in the long run, it will work out.

Calmness is the reward. 😌
